“The artistic proposal which Andrea Garcia has been developing in recent years is the result not only of her knowledge and the materials used but also an accumulation of professional and life experiences, which has been able to provide a strong context in her work; which arises from the engagement of a historical tradition that the artist has managed to transpose in our world today, making her art production significant in today’s society.
Andrea Garcia uses items considered waste to extract its inherent value, which has been buried by use and time in them. The artist assigns a proper and worth use to elements that society rejects, this transformation has a role in both the artistic and social context. With the use of disposable items such as garbage and recycled aluminum caps and radiators of different types of machines, the artist wants to inquire and rethink the role -now a days so media driven- and view in making judgments of value whether they are on the objects or humans”.
